When you put your hard-earned money into new car audio equipment, it can be annoying if the sound sounds bad. If you replace the car audio equipment, add more speakers, and install a new amplifier. At first, your new radio sounds good, but then you turn up the volume and it no longer works as expected. And when the amplifier sound cuts in and out, the speaker will be full of static electricity, and worse, other electrical systems in your car will no longer work properly. You may be wondering what went wrong with the installation-but most likely, you just forgot to install car audio
capacitors to handle the large stereo system. Whether it is an installed stereo system or other equipment that consumes a lot of power, a capacitor may be required to make it work properly. Part 1: The use of capacitors A capacitor is a storage device used for power or voltage. Capacitors come in various shapes and sizes, so be sure to buy a capacitor that suits your circuit. Once you know what you need, you can buy it and prepare it for installation, or a professional can install it in your vehicle. Warning: Capacitors are used to store electricity. Once they are fully charged, they can release the voltage if they are touched. Large capacitors may cause serious electric shocks and even cause you injury. Part 2 of 2 parts: Materials needed to install the capacitor Capacitor electrical connector connector (various sizes) Electric eye connector (various sizes) Memory protection program wire (same size as the circuit where the capacitor is installed) Wire stripper/crimping Machine wrench (various sizes) Step 1: Park the car on a flat surface and use the parking brake. Step 2: Follow the manufacturer's instructions to install the memory protection program. Step 3: Disconnect the negative battery cable. Turn the cable clamp nut or cable bolt counterclockwise to loosen them. When loose, swing the cable away from the top post. If it is a jamb type battery, completely unscrew the bolts. Step 4: Find the power supply circuit where the capacitor is to be placed. On the amplifier, this will be the main battery power cord. Step 5: Using pliers, cut the positive feeder to the circuit. In order to obtain proper space, you should always keep the circuit at least 6 inches away from the object receiving the power. Step 6: Using pliers, strip the insulation from both ends of the wire that has just been cut. Step 7: Install the eyelet to one of the terminals. Use pliers to crimp it into place. *Tip: Eyes must be made for wires of that size. After crimping it into place, you need to make sure it is tight and firm. Step 8: Install the wire to the positive terminal of the capacitor. Then install the terminal nut loosely. Step 9: Install the capacitor on the vehicle according to the manufacturer's instructions. Some capacitors are installed with screws, and other capacitors are installed with double-sided tape. Step 10: Cut the appropriate length of wire to complete the circuit. Using the extra wire you have, measure the part that extends the other circuit wire to the capacitor and cut it to length. Step 11: Use pliers to strip both ends of the wire part. Install a mating connector suitable for the wire size at one end. Step 12: Install the other end of the docking connector on the circuit line. This will be done on the wire that was initially cut to provide a positive feed to the amplifier or other circuit. Step 13: Install a hole on the other end of the wire and crimp it into place. Step 14: Install the eyelet and wire to the positive terminal of the capacitor. Then use a suitable wrench to tighten the terminal nut until it fits snugly. Step 15: Ground the circuit. Install a wire from the negative terminal of the capacitor to a good body ground. Step 16: Install the negative battery cable. Tighten them with a terminal wrench until they are snug, then tighten them with a quarter turn. Step 17: Delete the memory protection program. Step 18: Start the vehicle and let the capacitor charge. After charging, you can use the installed circuit. After the capacitor is installed correctly, the circuit can be used. Please be careful when installing the capacitor to ensure that it is installed in a way that does not accidentally come into contact with anyone.
